To harness the pride that our children have in their local area, we are launching a ‘Marvellous Middlesbrough’ Short Story Competition – this is an opportunity for the fabulously creative young people of Middlesbrough to have fun creating their own short story, inspired by the book ‘The Bridge That George Built’, with the winning entries being published in a book.
Pupils up to Year 9, attending a Middlesbrough School, are challenged to write a short story (no word count) which includes references to Middlesbrough – such as the Central Library, the Dorman Museum, mima, or Albert Park. Where they go with their story is up to them, although they might like to visit these places for further inspiration.
All entries will need to be submitted by Friday 15th March 2019 for judging, before the winners are announced. Please download the entry form and follow the instructions on how to enter.
