This conference is for designated teachers of looked-after and previously looked after children. The local authority has a statutory duty to promote the education of these two vulnerable groups which includes offering training to designated teachers on their needs and highlighting sources of advice and support.

The conference will:

• Raise awareness of the needs of looked after & previously looked after children
• Provide a legislative context from the Department for Education
• Consider the research base on what works to support them
